Drs. Allison, Lauren, and Stephanie Boden—triplet sisters and orthopedic surgeons at UofL Health—were recently spotlighted on The Terry Meiners Show in a heartwarming and inspiring episode titled, “They’re triplets, orthopedic surgeons, and inseparable.”
In the episode, the Boden sisters share their remarkable journey from competitive athletes growing up in Georgia to becoming leading specialists in orthopedic surgery. The family legacy in medicine runs deep—both parents, grandmothers, and several relatives are physicians—so it was no surprise when all three sisters followed in their footsteps.
Now reunited at UofL Health after completing residencies in different cities, each sister has carved out a distinct specialty: Dr. Lauren Boden focuses on spine surgery, Dr. Stephanie Boden specializes in sports medicine and shoulder care, and Dr. Allison Boden treats foot and ankle conditions. The trio often consults one another, and occasionally even operates together, bringing a unique team dynamic into the operating room.
The podcast episode explores how their bond has remained unbreakable through medical school, training, and now professional life. It also touches on the exciting news that a fourth Boden sister is preparing to graduate from medical school—possibly joining the team at UofL Health in the near future.
To hear more about the Boden sisters’ journey, their specialties, and what it’s like to practice medicine side by side with family, listen to the full episode of The Terry Meiners Show wherever you get your podcasts.
